The Inaugural conference was held September 19, 2007, at Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois. Over 300 people gathered to hear from innovative speakers, including William McDonough, architect and author of Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things and Sadhu Johnston, Chief Environmental Officer with the City of Chicago.
Here’s what a few attendees said about last year’s conference:
All of the speakers at the Green Town Conference were instructive and interesting. William McDonough was inspiring and energizing as the keynote speaker. Doug Farr gave a very informative and humorous talk on Sustainable Urbanism. I would like to have heard the presentation on Municipal Composting and others. The range of topics made it difficult to choose among the speakers. I am looking forward to the next Green Town conference.

It was a great opportunity to hear from some of the finest in the field. As a practicing Interior Designer and member of ASID, I am interested in strategies that result in materials and furnishing assemblies that meet the "cradle to cradle" threshold. Thanks again for such a great experience!

I loved the power of seeing so many people who care about sustainable living lined up outside a place of knowledge.
